My Gmail Is A Ninja!

Hoo-hah! Go ninja go ninja go!

I love my new Gmail interface, it's a far far cry from the classic look. Has this been around for a long time now? And since I fiddled with the Themes, I uncovered a whole bunch of Gmail magic that's making my inbox so much more colorful and functional.

1. Colored Labelling
Well we all know that for some reason, Gmail hates folders. This was the reason I used to prefer Yahoo Mail, coz I was getting an eyesore seeing my cluttered Gmail inbox. But if you actually incorporate colored labels, it makes it easier to skim through the page.

2. Gmail Offline
Fresh from the Labs. I don't see the need to enable this yet at the moment, but this is very useful for laptop-toters who are constantly working on the go.

3. Tasks
It's like having your own to-do list accessible whenever you're online. Pretty nifty too if most of your work is web-based. You got your Gmail open for any alerts, plus you see your tasklist in a single glance.

4. Quick Links
I'm enabling this as we speak. If you're all digitally cluttered up like me, you probably have loads of vital info stored away in your inbox. Contact information, URL, project list...all staying in some email correspondence. I used to just "star" or "flag" em, but I ended up with too many flag items. This actually allows me to turn the email into a shortcut link on the Gmail interface. Luv it!

5. Superstars
Speaking of starring your email. You can now customize the stars accordingly. Much like Outlook's colored flags. Another great add-on, and reason to stick with Gmail.

There's actually a lot more that can be found under Settings > Labs. You can even put a silly game widget somewhere for when you're bored. But productivity-wise, the abovementioned are my top Gmail lifesavers.
